Folasade died that evening and it became media frenzy, mum and dad did not take me back to school, we drove straight to Lagos and mum called her boss and it was agreed she could go on a 2 week administrative leave. Dad’s driver took us to the airport (my mum, mama afusa and all my younger ones), we did not even pack much just our passports and favourite things. We waited at the airport for about 4 hours then we boarded Virgin Atlantic to London Heathrow, from there we took a train to Paris. I don’t know how dad did it but he met us in Paris the next day. I had obviously missed a lot of tests and had no access to my friends because my phone was in school. My mum had told me a driver went to school to get my things and that Yemisi had packed my stuff for me. My older ones were flown in from Canada where they school because dad said he wanted his family in one place.

Back in Nigeria it was a media frenzy ‘Senator’s daughter dies in controversial cult activities, two Nigerian big shot in a dangerous feud’ all over the news paper and it seem to be a mystery because everyone refused to talk.

We stayed in Paris for the next 3 weeks and after a very long conversation and argument with my parents I was allowed to go back to school and all my grades were already sorted. I later realised that the guys arrested were all released shortly after Sade died and dismissed from the school premises.

I started dating Kolapo and Tayo (who was actually in his 4th year Law not final year like he lied to me when we first met, he was going to spend an extra year in school) simultaneously because I found out I was in love with both of them. There was no way they could find out because Kolapo was always in class or at the hospital. When he was not in either of the two places he was with me either having sex or smoking (he had introduced me to cigarette because that was the only way he knew how to relax). He was a little sad about Folasade’s death but he refused to talk about her, he usually told me he was happy to be with me. Life with Tayo was different because we were always together in school, after lecture hours we would go for a ride on his bike and have sex under the stars late at night. We would share bottles of soft drink together and chocolates were his favourite treat, we always went for the club parties together and everyone knew we were an item. No one knew who Kolapo was so there was no reason for rumours. I was never in my room during the weekends, Tayo studied mostly during the weekends so I would excuse myself. I hardly slept, hardly read my books, all I did was dress up, have sex with my two boyfriends and take my friends out to eat.

Life at that time I thought was good because mum and dad never came back to my school since the incident. All they did was send mama Afusa to me and I usually looked for excuses not to go home during the short breaks, I always lied that I was with Yemisi. It was easy for my parents to look over everything because all they wanted was for me to graduate and leave that school.

I remember I got pregnant again and was confused because I was having unprotected sex with Tayo and Kolapo, I really did not care because I knew Tayo was passionately in love with me, and Kolapo treated me like I was his pet. I was precious to both of them and it was easy because they hardly knew each other, never ran into each other and they never suspected me of double dating. I went alone to the Doctor that Yemisi introduced me to and it was only Tayo that I told about it. He wanted to go with me but I told him I wanted to be alone. He felt really bad and the night I came back from Ibadan, he took me to his room, we showered together and had sex again. It was ridiculous because I was still bleeding but he could not keep his hands off me. I spent the night in his room for the first time since we started dating and it was actually fun. Two weeks after that we all went home for end of session vacation

We had spent our holiday in the United States where Tayo also went to spend the holidays because he was ready to go to law school and I was ready to start my final year in school. We went everywhere in New Jersey, he took me to different places, clubs, casino etc. We had a lot of fun and I said my goodbyes because we were hoping it would be the beginning of the end of our relationship as we were no longer going to be in school together. I was going to really miss him but relieved to be taking a break from the two timing. I kind of had a way of not thinking about my boyfriends when I was not with them so it was easy for me to let go. Mum had remembered him from the day she saw him in school and asked me if that was my boyfriend. I told her it was nothing serious so she decided not to tell dad.

We went back to school and Yemisi came back pregnant, Fara had lost her dad as he was assassinated the week we started vacation and her mum was going to send her to Europe for her masters immediately after our final exams. Kolapo now had a brother in school and I technically became a school sister. Life was changing for us all but little did we know the last year in school was going to be filled with memories that will linger in our hearts.
