We wanted to know:

What was your color scheme and how did you choose it?

You guys answered with some of the most beautiful responses to date!

My favorite color pair is turquoise and almond, so I immediately knew that I wanted to incorporate that into my wedding. Our date was in fall, so we figured that the rest of the colors should be influenced by the season. We stayed true to romantic blues that paired nicely with turquoise while allowing every color to build off the almond base.

I think the best advice I can give is for a bride is to find a pair of colors that she loves! Whether it be purple and gold or black with pink. When you have a color scheme you can easily tie a room’s decor together or you can complete a matched set. However, I personally think that even though you should have two main colors it is always wise to add variety. Colors that complement your choices help soften the look of a planned wedding. Sometimes having perfectly matched decor makes the vibe a little stiff.

Here are some wedding pictures to show our colors:

I wanted crazy bright, fun colors, but my husband thought they weren’t formal enough. So he convinced me to go with gray and navy. But I couldn’t let go of bright colors, so we also had bright pink (my favorite color) and bright green (mostly as a nod to the Sounders). I really loved the whole combo—very pretty, fun, but not overwhelming. Plus, I liked that the whole bridal party wore gray, but my brother and MOH had pink accents, and his brother and best man had green accents (and he had blue accents with a darker gray suit).

Our flowers and tables were a good representation of the colors:

We wanted bright and colorful! Our colors were teal, coral, peach, and yellow.

Well, my favorite color has always been blue, and I have also always loved how navy blue and teal blue (aquamarine) look together! So when it came time to plan for the wedding, it was easy for me to pick an inspiration picture based off of my favorite colors: Van Gogh’s Starry Night! It is also my favorite painting.

So my color scheme was navy, teal, a lavender/indigo, gold, and silver.

Here’s our wedding colour scheme.

It was inspired by the picture of the bouquet below/profile pic. I spotted it one day very early on in my engagement, and even though I will have had two years to plan, I still haven’t found anything I like better. This is the winner every time.

I like that it’s not just two colours. I enjoy the variety and overall feel of it.

I booked my florist fairly early in the planning process, and she was hesitant to confirm the colours/theme with me because it was so early. She said to keep taking notes because her experience has shown her that clients often keep gravitating back to exactly what they want (even if they aren’t aware of it). Looking back at my Pinterest board and any other wedding likes, I noted you can see these colours present in almost every little detail.

Blush tones and gold.

I guess we tried to stick to navy, ivory, pink/coral, mint, and gold:

Red, white, gold, and black.

I chose red, white, and black becuase I always loved those colours, and my hubby is Trini and it’s the colour of his flag (that was a coincidence). Also, I always liked strong, demure, bold colours.

Also gold, becuase I wanted to add a metallic in there.

My color scheme/theme is lavender because that is my last name. My cousin suggested it to me years ago before I ever met FI. I thought it was a lovely idea and stuck with it once we started planning our wedding. Of course that cousin is now a bridesmaid! It just works…I mean it is a color AND a flower! Interestingly, FI’s last name is also a color but in German.

Our primary colors are indigo and gray/silver, and secondarily evergreen, black, and white. And maybe lavender, brown, and cream too, LOL. I don’t remember how exactly I picked them, but I knew FI wouldn’t want it too girly, and my sister hates green so it’d be nice to not make her wear it. I wanted a little bit of a fairy-tale vibe, and we’re getting married in San Francisco in June. Between the ceremony in a park that might be foggy and the reception in an Art Deco hotel that features a lot of red and gold, I think everything will come together very nicely.

Orange and gray with red accents are what we chose. My colors were inspired by the following bouquets.

My favourite colour has always been purple, like bright royal purple (my hair has even been bright purple), so it was a given that purple would be in our wedding colours. I didn’t want to make my girls wear purple dresses, though, because I knew that colour wouldn’t be great on everyone, so I decided on black dresses with purple SHOES! We’re using a bright green for accents with our flowers and a few hints here and there on the tables. Our colours will be black, grey, purple, and silver with hints of green.

Our color scheme is made up of the house colors of Hogwarts. Deep burgundies, greens, blues, and gold.

MrsRevolutionize

I’m a big-picture thinker, so I needed to find a theme before I had a colour scheme. I was really having trouble figuring out what the theme was going to be—we switched venues, and I was originally going to do a straight up Pinterest pink vintage wedding—until I stumbled across the trending colour scheme of navy and yellow. This made me think night sky, and the theme of starry garden immediately fell into place when FI mentioned that he would like to feature his late grandfather’s telescope, which he inherited, in the wedding. Our colours are indigo and gold, with splashes of white.

Our wedding was at the end of summer, so we really wanted to play up the saturated tones of late summer/early fall. We didn’t really have set colors…we kind of let the flowers dictate what colors there would be. My bridesmaids were in a jewel toned purple/fuchsia, and there were pops of red, yellow, peach, and green everywhere. My inspiration came from yellow sunflowers and the dark purple, red, and peachy dahlias. Here is my bouquet:
