Serving others is a huge part of being a mother, and of being human. I know for many of you, like me, service and contribution is a top priority, along with family and faith. How can we serve in ways that will truly make a difference in the lives of others? How do we know who needs our help most? And how can we raise our children to want to follow in our footsteps and serve others with a willing heart? In today’s special episode I’m talking with Hayley Smith, founder of Lifting Hands International, a non-profit that helps “get refugees what they need—simple and politics-free.” Hayley will share how she felt compelled to help the millions of families who’ve been displaced because of war and terror, and her story will hopefully inspire you to want to get involved and make a difference—in one way or another—too. Be sure to visit my post about “Making a Difference: Help for the Refugee Crisis & What You Can Do” for links and more ways you can serve today, including how to help resettled refugee families locally, and be sure to visit the Lifting Hands International website for more ways you can get involved. You may also visit these reputable organizations’ websites for more ideas on how to make a difference with the refugee crisis: International Rescue Committee and The Welcome to America Project.
