Students from Webster University in Thailand had an opportunity to seek valuable career advice and gain hands‐on working experience recently at a Career and Internship Fair held in Bangkok. Held at Webster University Thailand’s Bangkok Academic Center in Empire Tower on Sathorn Road, the Career and Internship Fair was organized by the university’s School of Business and Technology to give its students the required knowledge, skills and abilities to join an increasingly competitive work force and to make a contribution to the world in which they live.

With the aim of providing its students with opportunities to enhance their theoretical learning with hands‐on experience in major corporations and improve their employment opportunities after graduation, the school invited several leading companies to participate in the event.


The companies on hand to share career advice and interview prospective internees included such big players in the hotel and leisure industry as Novotel Bangkok Platinum Hotel, ACCOR, Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park of the InterContinental Hotels Group, and Soneva Resorts. Crowne Plaza was providing internships in various departments, while Soneva Resorts was offering long‐term internships of six months or longer. Vejthani Hospital and VIVIN Extrovert were offering marketing internships in the fields of healthcare and special event management, respectively. The American Chamber of Commerce made a number of spaces available for interns in its main office. Shambhala Realty also interviewed potential interns at the event.

Khun Sariktakamol Mongkol, Talent & Development Manager at Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park ‐ InterContinental Hotels Group, stated that she felt the event was very well organized. She also went on to commend the quality of students saying, “They are well prepared and we are expecting to accept a number of them into our internship program.”
