Is The McLaren 650S Fast Enough To Beat Ford GT In This Epic Street Race?
This is going to be a tough race. We have the McLaren 650S that is considered to be one of the fastest accelerating sports cars on our planet. It’s one unique supercar built by McLaren Automotive and announced in February 2014. Actually this car is based on its predecessor – McLaren MP4-12C, but 25% of its parts are modified and upgraded. The supercar features a carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer chassis and is powered with a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine (M838T). The engine delivers the insane 641 horsepower and 500 lb ft of torque.
On the other hand we have a real American muscle car – Ford GT. This is one mid-engine two-seater supercar based on the 1960’s race car Ford GT40. A total of 4,038 cars were sold back in 2004 and 2005 and the last 11 vehicles that were manufactured by Mayflower Vehicle Systems were disassembled. The car is equipped with lots of unique technologies like its superplastic-formed frame or the “ship-in-a-bottle” gas tank design. Under the hood we have a 5.4-liter Modular V8 engine with a Lysholm twin screw-type supercharger on the top. The power output is exactly 550 horsepower and 500 lb ft of torque.
McLaren 650S is an all wheel drive car capalbe to reach a top speed of 207 MPH. When it comes to Ford GT the top speed is electronically limited to 205 MPH. We had probably watched race videos between the McLaren 650S and other sports cars like Nissan GT-R, Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari LaFerrari and many more. It’s time to see it against one of the best supercars manufactured in USA. There is one little piece of information that should be added before the race starts.

The American Ford GT is lightly tuned up to 700 horsepower against the stock 641 horsepower McLaren 650S. There is no one who could deny that the American muscle is a definite brute, but is it fast enough to be the winner in this race?
