Good Thursday, folks. We have a bit of a mild warm-up on the way over the next few days. This will send our highs above normal for a couple of days, but it doesn’t look to stick around very long. Throw in a couple of systems during the same time and you have the makings of a rather wimpy warm-up.

A weak system is rolling in from the southwest Thursday and will bring a period of light mixed precipitation to the area later in the day in parts of Central and Northern Kentucky. It could be light rain or light snow.

Temps look to be above freezing during this time, but road temperatures are well below freezing. That’s something for us to keep an eye on.

Highs will approach 50 in some areas by Friday and early Saturday. That won’t last long, because a cold front is expected to cross the state Saturday.

That front means widespread rain and gusty winds on Saturday as temps drop quickly from west to east. We could even see light snow into early Sunday.

A system early next week is trying to take on more of a wintry look on many of the models. The European Model is among them:

Quite a shot of cold comes in behind that system and shows how wimpy this mild stretch is shaping up to be. Another cold snap is likely next weekend and the following week.

Have a great day and take care.
