Yes, Disney vacations seem to be getting more and more expensive, but they are still attainable. It might be easy to decide you are going to skip out on your Disney vacation plans, but before you do consider a couple things: have you looked around for special offers, have you actually budgeted everything out, have you talk to a Disney expert on it, have you set realistic expectations? These are important questions to ask, because you probably deserve a Disney vacation. You spend all year working your butt off at work, school, or with kids, and a Disney vacation might be what you need. Don’t let the cost immediately scare you away, because if you really plan it out, your vacation plans might be more feasible then you think!
Looking For Deals
This is crucial. You should have been doing this all along. Finding deals on a Disney vacation is incredibly important. Whether it is a discount on the hotels, cheap airfare, or a free Disney Dining Plan. Whatever it may be, you have to seek out these deals. For example, Disney currently is selling a special 4-day ticket for about $70 dollars per day! With ticket prices increasing, this is an amazing deal! Looking for low airfare is important, and if you book with a airline like Southwest you can even get a refund in the price difference if the flight gets cheaper. Another hidden deal that many Disney vacationers swear by is buying Disney gift cards with a Target Red Card. The Target Red Card will save you 5% on Disney gift cards that you can use to book your Disney resort hotel room, your park tickets, and even buy food with on Disney property. There are plenty of tips and tricks like this that will help you reduce the cost of a Disney vacation.
Talk To An Expert
There are a lot of resources for you to plan a magical Disney vacation that isn’t quite so expensive. A friend or family member who knows a lot of about the Disney parks is a good place to start. They can give you a better sense about your options and what a good budget is. There is a good chance your family member or friend who knows this much about Disney also knows how to budget out a Disney trip. Ask them for tips and tricks and how they afford to go so often. If you don’t have a friend or family member who knows more than you about Disneyland and Walt Disney World, try talking to a travel agent like Dreams Unlimited Travel. If talking to a friend or family member or a Dreams Unlimited Travel agent isn’t for you, then ask the Disney online community; there are plenty of resources for you to ask. Personally, at the DIS we like using disboards.com, but honestly just getting any help from the Disney online community is important.
Expectations
Maybe traveling to Walt Disney World or Disneyland 10 years ago meant you could afford to stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian and you don’t want to settle for anything less. Well, in my opinion that is an incredibly poor decision. There are plenty of excellent options on and off Disney property that will still allow you and your family to have an incredible vacation. Even if you can’t afford to stay at a value Disney resort, there are off site options that will have some incredibly low rates. A lot of off property resorts will let you use reward points to make your vacation even cheaper!
