DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Multiple Regional Transit Authority routes will be temporarily adjusted beginning Saturday July 2 at 6 p.m. for the Fourth of July weekend fireworks and festivals at Riverscape Metropark, according to a press release from the RTA.
The changes will accomodate the “Lights in Flight” festival and fireworks display.
The event schedules and reroutes are as follows via the RTA:
July 2 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, July 3, 2016
Route 16
Riverside Drive will be closed between First and White Allen. Alternate routing into downtown will be on Main Street (using bus 7 routing and stops). Outbound Service: Customers can catch the bus at Jefferson and 2nd Streets then to Helena and Riverside. Inbound Service: The bus will use Great Miami Blvd to Main with service on Ludlow.
July 3 at 7 a.m. (Fireworks Reroute)
Route 5
No change to Outbound Service. Inbound Service: Bus stops will be closed on Monument between Riverside and Jefferson Streets. Customers can catch the bus at Ludlow between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
Routes 11 – 17 – 18 – 19 – 22 – X1A – X1B
No change to Outbound Service. Bus Stops will be closed on Monument between Riverside and Jefferson Streets. Inbound Service: Customers can catch the bus on St. Clair between 2nd and 3rd Streets. (Note: at about 5:00 PM, Bus 17 will be routed along Keowee to Monument when Webster is closed over the river)
July 3 at 8 p.m. (Fireworks Reroute)
In addition to the above, Jefferson will be closed to buses north of Third Street.
Routes 7 – 8 – 9 – 12 – 14 – 16 – 43
Outbound Service will use Third Street to Main to regular routing. Please use Wright Stop Plaza to catch your bus. No changes to inbound service.
Routes 11- 17- 22- 18- 19
Outbound Service will use Third Street to Keowee to regular routing. Please use Wright Stop Plaza to catch your bus.
Affected routes will resume regular routing on July 4, 2016
