GERMANTOWN, Ohio (WDTN) – Germantown residents are sounding off after a board that they didn’t elect is making decisions without their input.
The German Township Board of Trustees did announce a re-evaluation of a project that would bring city water to part of its rural areas.
The plan comes from the Valley View Water and Sewage Board after a tense meeting earlier Monday with more than 200 people.

Many of those same people also packed the meeting at the German Township offices Monday night
The biggest concern many people have is they feel the Valley View Water and Sewage Board is going over their heads to install city water.
The Board of Trustees say the water board legally does not have to ask permission of homeowners.
Some weren’t aware until recently about the project. Others feel they should have a voice in the process.
The water and sewage board is taking another look at the project during their next meeting.
On average, some homeowners on Eby Road were saying the assessment for the project would cost them around $14,000.
One person said he was looking at a $26,000 assessment.
It’s a high price to pay, they say, for not having a say in the matter.
