McKenzie Mayor Jill Holland has announced her candidacy for re-election in November, while former mayor Walter Winchester will challenge her for the seat.

City, state, and federal candidates will appear on the Carroll County ballot with candidates for the cities of Atwood, Bruceton, Hollow Rock, Huntingdon, McKenzie, McLemoresville, and Trezevant, along with the referendum for wine in grocery stores in McKenzie.

In McKenzie’s Council Ward 2, incumbent Raymond Glisson and David Hochreiter are seeking the four-year term.

In Ward 3, incumbent Billy Barksdale and Cassie Allen have qualified for the four-year term.

In Ward 4, Teri King and Kevin Gallimore have qualified for the two-year unexpired term of Dianna Lankford, who resigned and moved from the area.

And in Ward 5, incumbent Gene Hale and Dawn Ervin have qualifed to seek the four-year term.

McKenzie residents that live in Weakley County will cast their votes for mayor and Ward 5 councilperson, as well as the “Wine in Supermarkets” referendum at the Gleason precinct.
