Kentucky State Police are investigating a break-in that occurred at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.
Hickman Police Chief Tony Grogan said he was called to the County Office Building on Myron Cory Drive, around 12:30 Sunday afterno0n.
Grogan said a deputy discovered the glass door to the Sheriff’s office broken.
Following an initial walk thru of the area, Grogan contacted Sheriff Bobby Hopper, who then informed State Police at Post 1 in Mayfield.
Chief Grogan said an investigation was conducted at the scene by State Police detectives for much of the afternoon Sunday.
Entrance into the building was made thru the roof, and occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
Grogan said the break-in was apparently targeted for the Sheriff’s Department, with the offices of the County Court Clerk, Property Valuation Administrator and Judge Executive untouched by the burglars.
