CANDIDATE FORUM PLANNED – The Bridgeport Lions Club will host a Primary Election Public Forum at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at their building located at 1107 8th St. in Bridgeport. All Republican and Democratic candidates in the March 4 primary election have been invited, and each candidate will present his or her platform or position on the issues affecting Wise County. PLAYOFF BASKETBALL – Last night’s girls playoff basketball scores included Decatur 46, Aubrey 35; Grandview 55, Boyd 42; Paradise 70, Godley 65; Alvord 34, Maypearl 29; and Slidell 54, Savoy 29. In boys basketball, Santo beat Chico 65-47 in the District 11-A tiebreaker game. Northwest also beat Fossil Ridge 73-68.

FUNDRAISER FOR CONN’S FAMILY – A dance fundraiser for Chris Conn’s family is 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at A-Bella Vita in Seagoville. Admission is $5, and other monetary donations will be accepted. Conn was killed in a house fire Feb. 6, and his stepfather was badly burned. For information about the fundraiser or the family’s needs, call Conn’s grandmother, Cathie Arbour, at 214-694-1557. VALENTINE PARTY – Decatur Skate is having a Valentine’s party and hockey club fundraiser 7-10 p.m. tomorrow. The hockey club will be raffling items and taking Valentine photos. For information, call Cindy at 281-974-9727.

CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRIES – The Legend Bank Relay For Life team, Carolyn’s Cookie Monsters, will sell Valentine’s Day chocolate-covered strawberries Friday at both the Decatur and Alvord branches. Cost is $20 per dozen.

DEMENTIA PROGRAM – The Virtual Dementia Tour is noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Weatherford College Wise County, 502 Big Sandy Court. The program is for caregivers, professionals and anyone who works with older adults. The tour will take participants from the beginning to late stages of the disease process, encompassing tasks and exercises that are essential for caregivers and professionals to understand. JOIN THE CLUB – The Oil Belt Senior Men’s Golf Association opens its 2014 season Monday, Feb. 17, at The Club at Runaway Bay. Men 50 years of age or older are invited to join the association, which is beginning its 23rd year. Enrollment fee is $20, and play is by handicap. Members play two to four times per month, rotating play on 17 different courses in the area. There is a nominal fee each time you play. For information, call J.E. Carson at 940-627-2244.

PARADISE SPORTS – Paradise youth softball and baseball registration will occur 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Paradise City Hall. The cost is $85 per child. DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCE – Dads and daughters are invited to the Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department’s 7th Annual Dad and Daughter Dance Saturday. There will be two different dances, 5:30-7 p.m. and 7:30-9 p.m. Tickets are $15 per couple and $5 for each additional daughter. Tickets are on sale at Bridgeport City Hall.
