MONROE, N.C. — The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the Principal at Weddington High School is facing fraud charges after being arrested Friday morning.

According to reports Kimberly Gayle Andrews, 45, was arrested at her residence and charged with Obtaining Property by False Pretenses.  The charges stem from investigation into misrepresented information of mileage reimbursement forms.

Reports indicate that Union County Public Schools officials filed an incident report with the Sheriff’s Office this week stating Andrews either falsified or inflated the mileage on the reimbursement forms, which were submitted between July and December of 2016.

Andrews became the principal of Weddington High School prior to the beginning of the current school year.
