MINT HILL, NC — Three people are in the hospital after a head-on collision Monday morning on Idlewild Road.
The accident happened around 6:45 Monday morning on Idlewild Road near Mint Hill Middle School. Police say a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2014 Ford F150 hit head-on.
Three patients were taken to CMC Main for treatment.
Officials say the driver of the Jetta is in critical condition, but the passenger suffered only minor injuries. The driver of the F150 also received only minor injuries.
Investigators say names will not be released.
The investigation is ongoing to determine what caused the accident and whether or not speed/alcohol played a factor.
