Martin Brodeur’s 100th career regular-season outing against the Rangers did not turn out the way he and the Devils would have liked, as Pete DeBoer was forced to go to the bullpen after two periods of the Stadium Series game at Yankee Stadium.
It was the first time all season that either New Jersey goaltender was knocked out of the box. The Devils had not made such a goalie change since March 9, 2013, when Johan Hedberg was lifted after allowing five goals through the first two periods against the Carolina Hurricanes and replaced by Jeff Frazee.
The six goals allowed by Brodeur were the most he has ever given up against the Rangers and equaled his career-worst in any outing.

Brodeur is now 49-31-20 with nine shutouts, a 2.18 goals-against average and .916 save percentage in his 100 regular-season games vs. the Rangers.

Cory Schneider made 30 saves to improve to 9-9-7 with the 2-1 win over Washington last Friday night in Newark. Schneider is now 5-1-2 with one shutout, a 0.96 goals-against average and a .961 save percentage in his last eight starts dating back to December 28.
Schneider’s 1.86 goals-against average overall is second only to Josh Harding of Minnesota (1.66) for the best in the NHL. His 1.86 GAA is currently the best ever in Devils history for a goaltender who has played in at least 25 games in a single season:

Stephen Gionta, appearing in his 100th NHL game, scored his third goal of the season to give New Jersey a 1-0 lead in that 2-1 win over Washington. Only seven forwards in Devils history have scored less than 10 goals in 100-or-more regular-season games with the club:

The Devils beat the St. Louis Blues, 7-1, last Tuesday night at Prudential Center. New Jersey’s seven goals were a season-high and their most since April 10, 2010, against the New York Islanders, also a 7-1 win.
It was the sixth time in franchise history that the Devils scored at least seven goals in a game against the Blues:

Plus: Jaromir Jagr – Back-to-back two-assist games give Jagr 1,035 for his career, moving him past Mario Lemieux (1,033) for 10th place all time on the NHL list.
Minus: Shot Down – Schneider allowed a penalty-shot goal to Derek Stepan in Sunday’s loss. It was the first successful attempt against Schneider, who was a perfect 5-for-5 stopping penalty shots in his career.
