Get the answers from Wayzata’s own.

Minnesota native (and Wayzata High School graduate) Amy Klobuchar is the first woman elected to represent the State of Minnesota in the United States Senate. He’s been one of the most well-liked meteorologists in the Twin Cities for decades. But Emmy Award winning meteorologist Ken Barlow was living with a secret until recently.  He has bipolar 1 disorder.

It’s estimated that close to 300,000 people live with serious mental illness in Minnesota; more than half never seek treatment. It took decades for Ken Barlow to get the life-changing diagnosis and when he did find out, he was angry. He was worried that the stigma of mental illness

would harm his reputation.

He knows that by speaking out he can change and save lives.

Thank you for a great turnout for the public forum at the City Council meeting on April 19. You can find both the Civitas presentation and video from the forum here.

The Council will vote May 3 on whether to move the project forward and on what basis. While there will be no public comment, it would be helpful to have people there in favor of the vote if you are able to attend and represent. The resolution vote:

Does not say the City of Wayzata will launch the build-out full bore of the entire Civitas recommendation. It only sets the wheels in motion for city staff to help the Council evaluate and decide what they want to pursue, and what they don’t want to pursue, and in what priority and sequence. Also in consideration is including a provision to 1) set up the legal structure for and 2) launch the Conservancy or Trust to help with the deliberations and seeking outside funding opportunities.
