Neither woman will be outdone in their fight against each other and the public for fame and celebrity.

TUESDAY 3/1
8pm- Tom Moran

Genre- Singer Songwriter
For fans of- James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Ryan Adams

At 16, Tom Moran walked into a Starbucks and stole a Bob Dylan CD. Later that week he sat in Penn Station with his headphones on and really heard Dylan for the first time. Since that day, songwriting has been Tom's passion and life force. You'll hear influences from country to folk, even to heavy metal. Most of all you'll hear the influence of the great singer songwriters of the 60's and 70's.

9pm- Jake La Botz

Genre: Blues, Roots
For fans of: Howling Wolf, Lightning Hopkins, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan

After dropping out of school at 15, Jake La Botz hit the road, frequenting punk rock shows, hobo camps, and libraries. He found employment as a roofer, boilermaker, graphite factory worker, and obituary writer. In the midst of this he learned how to play guitar. He played on the streets and in the juke joints of New Orleans, Chicago, and the Mississippi Delta, finding kinship with some of the last of the pre-war era bluesmen: David “Honeyboy” Edwards, “Homesick” James, and “Maxwell Street” Jimmy Davis. La Botz has become known for his "Tattoo Across America Tour," where he tours the country performing at tattoo shops and as an actor in films in which he sometimes sings his original songs: RAMBO dir. Sylvester Stallone, ANIMAL FACTORY dir. Steve Buscemi, ON THE ROAD dir. Walter Salles.

"Jake La Botz is a creator of dark poetry and haunting song, the kind of music that gets in your bones and rides you for days, a sound and vision only those who've been to the bottom and clawed their way back up can generate. His midnight gifts evoke Hank Williams and Skip James as much as Tom Waits and Dylan. Not everybody will get this music - because not everybody is ready for the truth. --Jerry Stahl (author of Permanent Midnight)

"Jake is the modern day Hank Williams." --Steve Buscemi (Actor-Director)

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Megan Talay plays punchy power-pop that draws comparisons to 90's favorites like No Doubt, Blink 182, and Third Eye Blind. Her songs engage audiences with lyrics that are equally cleaver, emotionally vulnerable, and even biting at times. Talay has also won praise for her lead guitar work, stretching out into wah-inflected, blues-influenced solos over the band’s tight rhythm section.

“Memorable melody lines, tight harmonies, and passionate, powerful vocals” - Bruce Figler, 107.1 The Peak

“From the fantastic guitar to the detailed and thought provoking lyrics…this is a release that stands out from a lot of things I've listened to this year.” - Backseat Mafia

9pm- The Delorean Sisters

Genre: Bluegrass versions of 80’s 1 hit wonders
For fans of: Mr. T, Rubik's Cube, explicit lyrics stickers on CDs

Well, you’re in luck: the DeLorean Sisters reimagine synth-pop hits and keytar karaoke staples as old timey, early 20th century Americana.  It’s Marty McFly with a washboard; the Dust Bowl meets the Superbowl Shuffle. You'll never hear Toto the same way again.

While allegories dressed as science fiction may not be new to this world, they’ve never been more aesthetically pleasing than they are here. 9pm- Conor Ryan Hennessy

Genre: Folk, Americana, Country Blues
For fans of: Woody Guthrie, Huddie Ledbetter, Mississippi John Hurt

I’ve always admired the swing, emotion, and humor found in early blues, country and Appalachian music. I’m heavily influenced by the likes of Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Wille McTell, and Woody Guthrie. I think my music and the tunes I choose to sing and write reflect these influences in a pretty obvious manner. I like the idea of preserving forgotten music. I like telling the old stories.

“[Hennessy] sings with a gentle but confident voice and comes off like a relater and a storyteller, with a style rooted firmly in tradition.”

“[Hennessy] transcends the talking blues into the 21st century.”

11pm- Der Drazil

Genre:  Electro/Synth Pop/Darkwave
For fans of: Depeche Mode, Washed Out, Sisters Of Mercy, Massive Attack, Skinny Puppy

A synthetic mix of atmospheres designed to take you on a journey through the dark neon.

“Deeply rooted in the experimental electronic sounds of the 1980s, with influences as clear as Depeche Mode and as vast as Vangelis, it's hard to believe Der Drazil formed in a garage in the suburbs of Pasadena. Weaving elements of synth pop, darkwave, and EDM, Steve Mitchell has found his sound that is at times minimal and moody, yet always catchy as hell, proving that the 80s isn't just a decade, it's a genre." - Daniel Sukara "HipStar Zine"

11pm- Shayfer James

Genre: Folk Rock/Noir Pop Singer Songwriter

For fans of: Tom Waits, Danny Elfman, Fiona Apple

Shayfer James weaves surprisingly genuine musical landscapes that evoke the gauzy, sweaty sexuality of gulf-coast barrooms and the fantastical, narcotic mysticism of a Lewis Carroll-inspired three-ring circus. Mr. James' noir-infused, piano driven music swaggers from dark danceable anthems to harrowing ballads with jazz lilted satire and whiskey-dirt grit.

10pm- Smith & 9th Ward

Genre: New Orleans Blues/Funk/Jazz
For fans of: New Orleans Jazz, Blues, Funk and Brass Band music

SMITH & 9th WARD is a combo in the New Orleans, funky and soulful tradition.  We channel the likes of Dr. John, James Booker, Allen Toussaint and Professor Longhair to bring you New Orleans grooves with a Brooklyn attitude.  We consist of members of the OUTER BOROUGH BRASS BAND and we love playing funky NOLA tunes, traditional jazz standards and low-down blues. SMITH & 9th WARD: New Orleans grooves with a Brooklyn attitude.

“Leyton-Brown’s physical stance at the keyboard comes closer to Joe Strummer than Dr. John, but she’s got skills that would make Mac Rebenack grin that trademark grin. Allison injected some old school stride into “Don’t Think Twice,” and her vocals on Crescent City classics like “Big Chief” and “Mardi Gras in New Orleans” were right on point. But it’s the little differences she brings that make her a not-so-secret weapon, like the Fender Rhodes sound she brought to the funky Scatassa original “BQEeze,” or the sizzling Clavinet vibe she conjured up toward the end of the second set that was straight out of Billy Preston’s “Outa Space.” Maybe the traditionalists might freak, but it’s a Brooklyn thing! They wouldn’t understand!” – J Hunter “Nippertown”

“After the bass drummer unexpectedly decided to lead a secondline into the bar room, which freaked out most of the people there, they came back in and kicked things up another notch. By this point, those of us who were dancing stopped caring about what the room full of lazy people thought, and we got up and got down in front of the band on a rousing finale.” – a fan
