VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Eight months after a large fire at a condominium complex, the City of Virginia beach says the charred remains will finally come down.
Back in April, fire investigators say a short in an underground power line caused the two alarm fire at the Dunes Condominiums. The fire destroyed the buildings and damaged nearby condos.

The City of Virginia Beach says since then the insurance companies involved have battled it out to see who will cover the damage. Last month, the city’s code enforcement office said they awarded a demolition contract for the destruction of the standing structure.
A spokesperson says they expect to bring it down this month. You can count on WAVY to let you know when it happens.
