RAIN THIS WEEK
We are in for some much needed rain later this week. Rain chances will go up late Wednesday night and Thursday. Many locales should see 0.25" to 0.50" of rainfall between late Wednesday night and early Friday. Temperatures will be pushed back into the 70s (some may stay in the upper 60s) with clouds and showers increasing. A few thunderstorms are possible, but severe weather is unlikely.
THUNDER OVER LOUISVILLE
Models are in generally good agreement on pushing the late week rain out of the area and returning to conditions controlled by high pressure for Saturday's forecast.
This means decent weather for Thunder Over Louisville. Temperatures will likely range in the low to mid 70s for highs... and fall into the 60s for the fireworks.
Below are the EURO & GFS models with similar solutions for Saturday... high pressure to our northwest. At this point I'll say a few morning clouds fading to mostly sunny skies with a light north wind. Temperatures climb into the low to mid 70s by afternoon. Winds stay light into the evening from the north and northeast. This would carry the smoke to the southwest. You can bet we're updating this forecast as often as new data rolls in. Timing looks good at this point!
