KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Halloween is here! There are many spook-tacular events in East Tennessee, including festivals, yoga and trunk-or-treating.
All Weekend
Fanboy Expo
The expo will feature meet-in-greets featuring musicians, actors and more. Some of the celebrities include: Kathy Najimy of “Sister Act” and “Hocus Pocus,” E.G. Daily, the voice of Tommy Pickles in “Rugrats” and Buttercup in “The Powerpuff Girls,” Bruce Kulick, former member of KISS and Derek Mears of “Friday the 13th” and “The Hills Have Eyes.

Friday
Ice Bears “Sitck of Treat”
Everyone who wears a Halloween costume on October 28, 2016 can get into the game for only five dollars. The offer is only valid at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum box office. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
The Ice Bears will select the best costumes to compete in intermission activities. Also, adults that wear a costume will be entered to win a Knoxville Ice Bears team autographed stick.

Freaky Friday Fright Nite
Superheroes, princesses, ghosts and goblins – get ready! The Town of Farragut will host the 20th annual Freaky Friday Fright Nite from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mayor Bob Leonard Park on Watt Road. The event will provide a safe place for children to participate in Halloween activities while benefiting the Knoxville Ronald McDonald House.
Children age 12 and under and in costume are invited to “trick or treat” around the walk trail at the park. Local businesses, community groups and Town volunteers will hand out the treats, provide games with prizes, assist with cookie decorating and serve refreshments.
While Freaky Friday Fright Nite is a free event, participants are asked to donate items for the House. For a list of items, visit the Knoxville chapter’s website.
TICA Halloween Cat Show
The Volunteer Cat Club presents Halloween cat show in the Hills at the Smokey Mountain Convention Center, located at 4010 Parkway in Pigeon Forge.
Watch regional and international cat competition winners compete. There will also be candy for the kids.
The cost is $3 for children and $6 for adults.
Saturday
Costumes and Classic Cartoons
Children can have fun at a free event at the Tennessee Theatre from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The venue will be hosting tours, cartoon showings to celebrate its history of children’s programming. Attendees are encouraged to dress in family-friendly Halloween costumes. There will be old-fashioned candy from Mast General Store.

Farragut 13.1
The event will feature a half-marathon, a 5K and a kids’ mile. The half-marathon and 5K will start and finish at Farragut High School. The kids’ mile will stay on the school’s campus. Half-marathon and 5K runners will receive a long sleeve, hooded shirt and a medal. Children will receive a t-shirt and medal.
Packet pick-up and late registration will be at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Friday from noon to 8 p.m. Race day registration is not available for the event.
The event will be Saturday and start at 7:30 a.m. The kids’ mile will begin at 10 a.m.
International Food Festival
The event will feature foods from a variety of countries. Also, there will be live entertainment and a children’s corner. Food and drink tickets are $1 each. There will be meal options available. The event will take place at World”s Fair Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Yoga by the Water
Savannah Robertson Yoga will be hosting the event near the Concord Marina. There will be lunch after the class featuring $1 mimosas, bellinis and “POSEttias.” The class is open to all levels. Admission costs $10, not including lunch cost. The event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Lakeside Tavern.
Saturday-Sunday
Muggle-Con
Barnes & Noble and Transfiguring Adoption are hosting Muggle-Con 2016. There will be “Fantastic Beasts” from Zoo Knoxville Saturday. Attendees can watch the University of Tennessee and Nox quidditch teams also on that day. On Sunday, there will be a trivia contest.
Witches and wizards can wear their costumes, however, muggles are welcome. Also, attendees can deposit money into Gringotts, be sorted into houses, design a patronous and fight off a dementor.
The free event will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Barnes & Noble at 8029 Kingston Pike.
Sunday
Fall Festival at the 1st
Fall is in the air and at 1st United Methodist Church of Maryville anticipation is building for what is one of the biggest events of the year. More than a thousand people from the community are expected to come and enjoy a couple of hours of trunk-or-treating, jumping on inflatables, eating popcorn and hot dogs, getting faces painted, and much more. Since it is the Halloween season, you are certainly welcome to come dressed in costume .
It is a free event, but this year the church is asking everyone to bring canned goods for “admission.” All the food collected will be taken to the Blount County Food Connection. For more information visit www.1stchurch.org.
Ijams Fall Festival
Harvest time is here and Ijams wants families to celebrate. Visit Ijams Nature Park from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to enjoy storytelling, hikes, vendor marketplace, kids crafts, pumpkin patch, festive foods and more. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for kids ages 4-12, kids 3 and under are free. The whole family rate is $20.
