KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Runners, get on your mark, get set, go! Here’s information on Strawberry Plains half marathon and 10k along with other track club events.

Starts and finishes at Rush-Strong School in downtown Strawberry Plains. Strawberry Plains is located about 10 miles east of Knoxville, just off Highway 11E. Click here for directions.

Mail-in entries must be postmarked no later than Wednesday January 29. No t-shirt – deduct $5 anytime. Race day registration is from 7:30 – 8:45 a.m. at Rush Strong Elementary School. Pickup will be on Wednesday, February 4 from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at Academy Sports at 145 Moss Grove, Knoxville, Tennessee 37922.

Courses certified: USATF #TN 04007DJR and #TN01034/RH. A lovely scenic and rolling course that meanders through the Holston River Valley with views of Clinch and House Mountains. The 10K course is mostly flat. Course is open to traffic. This is not a course for walkers. Course closes after 3 hours.

Long-sleeved technical shirts. Pre-registered runners will receive shirts at packet pick-up or on race day. Late registrants will receive shirts as supplies last or at a later date.

Awards for both the Half Marathon and the 10K will be presented to the top 3 overall Male and Female. Awards to top Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+) and Senior Grand Masters (60+) Male and Female. Awards to top Clydesdale (200 Lbs +) and Athena (150 Lbs +). Age division awards are 3 deep in 5 year increments (no runners under 15 in the half marathon). Half Marathon Finishers will receive a commemorative finisher’s medal.

Only the Half Marathon is on Grand Prix Team Competition schedule. Teams of 4 or more may enter either event but must pre-register online at the same time with each team member receiving a $5 discount.

2013 Grand Prix Points awarded only to Half-Marathon participants.Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix awards, you must be a member of the KTC and you must volunteer for at least 3 events.

Hearty post-race refreshments will be provided in the cafeteria for all runners.

Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. HEADPHONES ARE PROHIBITED.

Whitestone 30k and Relay happening in Paint Rock, TN on March 1. It is the third race in the high mileage series. Then, the series wraps up with the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon on March 29. Dark Hollow Wallow coming up on February 18 for trail runners. It takes place in Big Ridge State Park and following that event is the Dirty South Half Marathon and Dirty Double Trail Marathon on March 8 on South Loop in the Urban Wilderness.
