KNOXVILLE (WATE) – WATE 6 On Your Side, Star 102.1 and Food City are partnering with MEDIC Regional Blood Center once again for its annual “Roll Up Your Sleeve Week” blood drive during the week of January 12-16.
MEDIC is the sole provider of blood for 22 counties and 28 area hospitals and depends on volunteer donors to meet the need of area hospital patients.
Blood drive locations are all over the WATE 6 viewing area, as well as MEDIC’s two donor centers: 1601 Ailor Avenue, Knoxville, and 11000 Kingston Pike, Farragut. The blood mobile will also be at the WATE studios on Monday, January 12, from noon to 6:30 p.m. and will be open to the public.
MEDIC will be holding a drawing for a $50 Food City gift card at each Food City donation location. Only those who give blood at the Food City blood drive locations will be eligible for the $50 gift card drawing. However, all donors during Roll Up Your Sleeve Week will be eligible for a $200 Food City gift card grand prize drawing at the end of the week.
All donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more (16 year olds weighing 120 pounds or more can donate but must have parental consent) and all donors must have positive identification.
