The Seiko is from November 1983. I'm not 100% sure of the caliber however as it was my late Grandfather's. When I changed the battery I neglected to write down the caliber number.

The Omega is from 1984 and has a 1365 caliber. Jeweled, repairable, and a cool step motor for the hour and minute hands. They jump forward instead of gradually moving. No crown either, the minute hand jumps forward with one short push of the recessed pusher and the hour hand moves forward by holding said pusher.

My opinion on both is that while these watches from the 80's don't seem to be as durable looking, but more elegant. The Seiko actually still has the JWCII inspection sticker on the back.

Thank you , that is very interesting . I have a mint Rolex oyster quartz that is also repairable . It is one watch i will never sell , and for me the most beautiful Rolex design ever . I just cannot understand why Rolex did not keep this design in production . James Dowling told me that the bracelet is the strongest ever made by Rolex . I think these older quartz watches that were made to be repaired will become very collectable in the future . I will try to find a picture of my watch ,and download it .
