On paper this was a crap main event but it was actually the best fight on the televised card. Krupp was awkward and gave Ali fits, especially in round 1 where Ali hit the deck. Ali would come back to drop Krupp in rounds 3 and 8 along the way, but it was fun from start to finish.

According to 1 of the judges Farias shut McGee out like the great Holly Holm did 5 months earlier. According to my eyes she looked nowhere near as good as Holm doing it. Farias was very wide and sloppy with many of her shots while McGee's main problem was not letting her hands go (nothing new). Nonetheless Farias remains a top pound for pound player as she advanced to 18-0 and retained her WBC female lightweight title. McGee lost a point in round 7 for using her forearm but I'm not sure every judge acknowledged it. Persistent wrestling kept this fight from being particularly entertaining.
