Boston, MA 02/05/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) latest OS version Android 4.4 KitKat is expected to make it to the LG Optimus G Pro, in unconfirmed Twitter news.

In a recent tweet to a user, apparently, the LG Optimus G phone maker replied that it plans to introduce the latest version of the Operating System for Android, the KitKat or Android 4.4. Apparently, this was a tweet issued by the Indian branch of the company.

However, the speculation remains if this was an official tweet.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s KitKat 4.4 is, as noted the latest update of the bi-annual revisions the open source operating system receives. However, as the Optimus G Pro is currently on Android 4.1.2 version, it remains to be seen if it will receive an update which is three time higher on the feature and function chain.

LG is not popular for its software updates

Additionally, the fact that LG as an Android device maker with entry-level price points is slow to offer software updates does work against the manufacturer. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) latest release, named after the famous chocolate product by the same name is unlikely to be the next software update the model will see.

Android Operating systems nomenclature is based on the alphabetic series and is bi-nominal by character and takes popular food names. Therefore, as the latest version release had to begin with the letter K, the operating system was given the name Kit Kat.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) releases these updates, which improves the features of the previous update as well as providing additional features. Most Android device makers such as the highest selling maker- South Korean device maker Samsung Electronics to Chinese White labels products are known to incorporate Android OS. However, the facility to update the OS as when Google Inc releases it is subject to the functionality of the manufacturer.

LG belongs to the latter group and is known to delay updates which are to be downloaded by the users. Given the fact that LG Pro 2 is expected to release in the next few months, the older versions of the phone may be passed over. LG may well make the marketers choice and not include Kit Kat 4.4 on G Pro 2, so that the latest devices may include it and drive higher sales.
