New York, NY, United States (4E) – Actress Rosie O’Donnell is all set to receive this year’s Isabelle Stevenson Award to be presented to her during the 68th Annual Tony Awards in June.

The special Tony award is given to O’Donnell for her “commitment to arts education and her work with New York City’s public school children through her organization Rosie’s Theater Kids.”

In a statement, Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of The Broadway League and Heather Hitchens, and Executive Director of the American Theatre Wing said, “We are excited to announce Rosie as this year’s Isabelle Stevenson Award recipient. Rosie exemplifies the spirit and the generosity of the Broadway community through her ‘pay it forward’ mentality within the arts community and beyond. Rosie constantly works to make our world a better place, and unconditional generosity like hers deserves great recognition.”

The “Rosie O’Donnell Show” host, who has also appeared in a number of Broadway musicals, films and radio shows, has hosted the Tony Awards three times—in 1997, 1998 and 2000. She has won several Emmy and Daytime Emmy Awards, among other awards and nominations.

The Rosie’s For All Kids founder joins the line of past Isabelle Stevenson awardees such as Phyllis Newman, David Hyde Pierce, Eve Ensler, Bernadette Peters and Larry Kramer.

Hosted by actor Hugh Jackman, the 68th Annual Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be held on Sunday, June 8 at the Radio City Music Hall, to be telecast live on CBS. This year’s nominees will be announced on April 29.
