This furnished rental is in Wine Country, Sebastopol, Sonoma County, California. The Casita is a one bedroom, 650 square foot house, fully furnished with a queen bed, another high quality double futon in the living room and a single futon chair.

There is a newly renovated IKEA kitchen which is fully equipped with coffeemaker, blender, dishes, silverware, pots etc. The bathroom has a shower (no tub but a hot tub under the stars is available for soaking. There is a TV with basic cable and there is Wi-Fi. The heat is provided by a gas wall heater. All Utilities are included.
Beautiful new floors were installed Summer of 2011 along with a remodel of the LR/kitchen and bathroom.

The space is bright with skylights in the bedroom & LR/kitchen and there is a slider to an outside patio. Enjoy the patio.... flowerbeds with herbs, fruit trees, flowers and California native plants abound. There is comfortable seating and a table with tree and umbrella shade. Soak in hot tub under the stars on another close by patio near your house. Use the gas very large stainless BBQ on the large garden patio....or a small BBQ on your patio..... watch all the birds at the many feeders.

Enjoy the quiet, secluded location in the garden behind my main house. Enjoy a walk a half mile away to Sonoma Azalea Farm nursery with park like trails, gazebo seating, lake and sweet resting spots. You can walk out the driveway onto walkable country roads. You can meet all your neighbors there!
The yard is fully fenced. A mellow dog or cat OK. No continually barking dogs, please. There is a pet door and your pet can roam the property unless s/he is a barker. Pet deposit $100. I love dogs and cats and have one independent cat myself. The other tenant also has a cat. both out cats are outdoor cats and neither is a hunter. A hunter cat won't work here as we feed many wild birds. Please be a responsible guest and clean up daily after your pet in the yard. I will, however, give preference to someone without pets.
There is only room for one smaller car in the driveway (Prius size or smaller) If your car does not meet this criteria, don't apply. People with 2 cars cannot be accommodated. Only fully employed tenant/s will be considered. Tenant/s that will be home during the day running heaters and other large electric use items will not be prioritized. This property is on TOU Time of Use metering (low use needed noon-6pm), a contract with PG&E for the solar system. Prospective tenant/s should want to be frugal energy users. As well all prospective tenants are expected to be familiar with separating and recycling garbage, using the Sonoma County Single-Stream system and to compost all food scraps. Garbage is picked up weekly. All utilities are included.

The Casita shares the back garden of the property with another small house, occupied by a young man. He is quiet and respectful. He works full time and is often gone on weekends also. His house and The Casita share a washer and dryer in a building between the 2 houses that also houses his shower.
No smokers on the property, please.
The Casita is in the Hessel Road area of Sebastopol 95472. This is a residential, post-agricultural area with walkable country roads. The house is about 4.4 miles west of Route 101 off 116. The Golden Gate Bridge & San Francisco are 55 miles south on 101. The Russian River resort area and the Pacific Ocean/Bodega Bay is 1/2 hr drive. Santa Rosa is a 15 minute drive. This area of Sebastopol has the easiest commute south to the SF Bay Area. Then you can return to the country after work. I did this for 22 years.
Ideal for a person on a temporary work assignment, for homeowners in the midst of remodeling, for persons relocating and in need of interim housing and has furniture in storage and is OK to leave it stored indefinitely. There are commuter and day long buses to San Francisco, Marin County and other towns in Sonoma County from a location nearby, ½ mile walk or bike ride or 5 mile drive to the park and ride freeway lot.

November 21st and then The Casita will be available as a monthly rental. Priority will be given to a tenant who wants to take occupancy as soon after this date as possible. This ongoing monthly rental is $1450/month with a $1450 damage deposit and a further $100 deposit for a pet. The Casita is fully furnished and the rent includes all utilities, parking, garbage, basic cable and Wi-Fi. There is no landline phone. I am open to temporary monthly rentals of a few months or more and a long term monthly rental, starting November 21st.
