The quiet neighbors might be starting to wake up.
Well, yesterday was an eventful day in Pennsylvania basketball recruiting. Top 50 guard Tony Carr popped for Penn Statewhile Team Final forward Dylan Painter cut his list to seven schools shortly after being offered by Villanova. And yes, Penn State is on his list (and you can throw Lamar Stevens in there too for good measure).
In case you've been living under a rock, Penn State is led by former Villanova assistant Patrick Chambers and his staff includes another former 'Nova staffer in Keith Urgo and fan favorite Dwayne Anderson. Team Final has been kind to Villanova recently (Mikal Bridges, Donte DiVincenzo) but the Nittany Lions have now landed two TF kids in 2016 (Nazeer Bostick & Tony Carr) while staying in the mix for Stevens and Painter.
Penn State isn't in the same realm as Villanova as far as tradition or current status goes - but Chambers is making moves. Should we be concerned?
