It’s that time of year again—time to start planning for school and all the sports and activities that will begin to pick up again. Doesn’t it seem like summer just started?

Anyway, if you’re like me you’ve already got a checklist of everything you need to do before the kids go back to school. One thing I want to remind you of is that in your scurry to get the kids ready, don’t forget to make an appointment at the eye doctor for their annual eye exams.

When you’re at the eye doctor, you know the kids will be asking about contacts—at least if they are anything like mine. My advice to you is to go to the eye doctor with a list of questions to help you make the decision of whether or not to get your teen contacts.

Your doctor will help you determine what is best for your teen, but you can do a little digging beforehand to help you make the best decision for you and your teen.

Important information for contact lens wearers: ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses are available by prescription only for vision correction. An eye care professional will determine whether contact lenses are right for you. Although rare, serious eye problems can develop while wearing contact lenses. To help avoid these problems, follow the wear and replacement schedule and the lens care instructions provided by your eye doctor. Do not wear contact lenses if you have an eye infection, or experience eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, redness or other eye problems. If one of these conditions occurs, contact your eye doctor immediately.
