Playful Corp. is currently developing one of the most anticipated titles for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). That title is Lucky’s Tale, a third-person platform videogame that takes inspiration from the likes of Nintendo’s Super Mario franchise. But that’s not all the developer has in the works for the Oculus Rift. Today sees the launch of the team’s other title, Creativerse, which will also receive support for the device.

Creativerse has launched on both PC and Mac as an Early Access release for £14.99 GBP. The title is described as a ‘sandbox adventure’ title in which players will explore vast environments. The title is a first-person experience with a block-based visual aesthetic similar to Minecraft. Players will fight monsters, collect resources and gems found across the land, create their own structures and share them online.

Playful Corp plans to keep Creativerse in Early Access for four – six months. The full version will add further features and fix various bugs. Interestingly, the title will be free once released in full and supported with micro transactions. Those that pay for the Early Access version now will be rewarded with in-game currency equal to the price when the title officially launches.

It’s not yet clear when Oculus Rift support will be implemented into Creativerse. VRFocus will continue to follow the title going forward, reporting back with any further updates.
