Bossa Studios recently confirmed that its smash hit indie videogame Surgeon Simulator would be heading the PlayStation 4 in the near future. At the time, the studio didn’t mention if the title would support the Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) headset. Now the developer has confirmed that it is indeed working on support for the upcoming device.

Studio co-founder Imre Jele confirmed as much, speaking to Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) head of World Wide Studios, Shuhei Yoshia. Yoshia mentioned on Twitter that he would like to see Surgeon Simulator work with the Project Morpheus headset, to which Jele replied: “You’ll be happy to hear that we’re already working on the Morpheus version! Hope to be able to show you soon.”

This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise given that the original Surgeon Simulator on PC feautres support for the Oculus Rift VR headset. That, and Bossa Studios has confirmed to VRFocus in the past that it was working on a VR dedicated title. That said, it’s still not confirmed that this is that dedicated title, given that it doesn’t seem to require Project Morpheus.

Bossa Studios revealed that the new version of the title would be available ‘soon’. Given that estimation, it’s likely to hit before Project Morpheus’ supposed 2015 launch. Will support be patched in at a later date? VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress and report back with any more updates.
