As just about everyone in the videogame industry will know by now, next week sees E3 2015 take place from 16th – 18th June in Los Angeles, California. It’s already been confirmed that Frontier Developments, the UK-based studio behind popular space simulation videogame, Elite: Dangerous, will be at the show with a brand new title to announced. But fans hoping for new updates to the developer’s popular virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame shouldn’t worry; Frontier Developments has confirmed that it will also have an announcement to make regarding Elite: Dangerous.

Studio founder David Braben confirmed as much in a Q&A on the official forums last week. When asked if the show would hold any news for Elite: Dangerous Braben simply replied “Yes, there will be Elite news too.” Frontier Developers will be revealing its new title during the PC Gaming Show on 16th June, though it’s not yet clear if it will support VR. Elite: Dangerous itself will be on display at the show floor throughout the week.

Elsewhere, the developer has confirmed two more shows that it will be bringing Elite: Dangerous to. The first is Gamescom from 5th – 9th August in Cologne, Germany. The title will also appear at PAX Prime in Seattle, USA from 28th – 31st August. The developer is currently searching for ‘Ambassadors’ to accompany the team to Gamescom, bringing their skills and knowledge of the title along with them. Those interested in this opportunity can send an email to community@frontier.co.uk along with their name, date of birth, address and 100 words on why they should be chosen.

Last week saw the title get its third major update in Elite: Dangerous Powerplay, introducing a new ‘Powers’ faction system. The concept allows players to ally themselves with certain groups and complete missions for them. VRFocus will continue to follow the videogame closely, reporting back with any further updates on its progress.
