Rebellion’s tank combat title Battlezone has been one of the most prolific titles to feature at events across the globe for Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE’s) PlayStation VR. With the head-mounted display only a few weeks away from its worldwide launch there’s still time to get a demo in as PLAY Expo Manchester will feature both the headset and Battlezone for visitors to try.

A homage to Atari’s classic 1980 arcade game, Battlezone is a neon drenched first-person tank warfare videogame that’ll be a launch day title for the PlayStation VR.

“Battlezone is our first big name announcement for the show and is one of many! PLAY Expo Manchester will continue to add AAA games and unmissable surprises to the roster. We really do believe this will be our greatest expo ever and we couldn’t be happier to have the team from Rebellion bring Battlezone to the event,” said Andy Brown, Director for Replay Events. “VR is the must-try gaming experience this Christmas and visitors to PLAY Expo get to experience PlayStation VR before it goes on sale to the public. We’ll also have a host of other VR formats to try out over the weekend.”

“We’re excited to be bringing Battlezone to PLAY Expo Manchester this October and are confident that gamers will love what they see,” said Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley. “VR really does need to be experienced first-hand, and PLAY Expo is the ideal opportunity for the whole family to try this next-generation entertainment for themselves.”

PLAY Expo Manchester will also have Oculus Rift HMDs available, with Doom VR and Lucky’s Tale on hand. While Glasgow VR, which provides demos, workshops and development resources to teams and individuals in Glasgow, Scotland, will be there to demonstrate the HTC Vive.
