Sujit Das from M.G.Road, Nagaon is a well known artist from Assam, but has recently grabbed the headlines when he presented his hand painted art to the Duke of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton when they were on a visit to Assam this year.

Sujit Das presented a Sattriya art to the prince and his wife that was intricately painted by him. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote a personalised letter to Mr.Das praising his artwork and thanking him for gifting them the wonderful hand painted art on Sattriya culture.

Sujit Das is known to be one of the best artists of recent times and and holds a Guinness World Record on his name. He has also registered his name in the Limca Book of Records for making the world’s largest painting brush. He has recently been invited to the Hornbill Festival to be held in Nagaland this December.

He was also invited to the Nepal Art Council and Bagmati Museum (Nepal) this month where he showcased Sattriya art to the world through his hand drawn paintings. The exhibition was attended by Mr. Kjell Tormod Pettersen, Ambassador of Norway who praised his efforts to spread the art of Sattriya culture through his paintings.
