Dr Ritamoni Baishya Talukder who is an associate professor of Hindi Department in Gauhati University, brought laurels to the state by winning National Award for her book Lohit Kinare.
The book is a collection of 10 Assamese short stories written by Monikuntala Bhattacharjee, Purabi Bormudoi, Mamoni Roisom Goswami, Reeta Choudhury, Purabi Bormudoi, Mausumi Kandali, Arupa Patangiya Kalita, Sneh Devi, Manorama Das Medhi and Anuradha Sarma Pujari, translated and written in Hindi by Dr Ritamoni Baishya Talukder.
Every year this award is given to non-Hindi writers and carries a citation along with a cash prize and given by Central Hindi Directorate under Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Human Resources Development.
The book has been published by Navachetan Prakashan, New Delhi.
