In New York, boots ruled, with many lusting over the metal-tipped cowboy boots at Calvin Klein; and the pearl-studded combat boots at Altuzarra. A touch of sparkle enlivened many a toe in London, including the crystal-studded crocodile leather sandals and ghillies at Mulberry, and the retro loafer platforms at Mary Katrantzou. Milan provided the biggest shoe hit: Prada’s feathered fancies and Gucci’s pink satin Mary-Janes, which came crystal-encrusted, studded, and embroidered, were the stuff of footwear dreams. And as for Paris? From heart-printed stilettos at Dior to Saint Laurent’s mega crystal slouchy boots, there were styles to suit every predilection.
