Loudoun County, Va. (May 12, 2015) – The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has officially proclaimed May 17-23, 2015 as Emergency Medical Services Week in Loudoun County. By formally recognizing these emergency medical professionals, Loudoun County hopes to bring awareness to the public regarding the critical roles our emergency medical providers play in our citizens’ day to day lives.

EMS Week joins together local communities and medical personnel to emphasize the safety of our citizens and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line.”

This year’s National EMS Week theme, “EMS: Strong” recognizes the important contributions and dedication of EMS practitioners in safeguarding the health, safety and well-being of their communities.

In recognition of National EMS Week, many of our local fire and rescue companies have planned open houses and events throughout the month of May. Please visit http://2015Fire-RescueSpringEvents for a detailed listing of these events.
