A nonprofit medical practice and medical research group is searching for a person to fill their position for a Virtual Laboratory Molecular Genetic Counselor in Rochester, Minnesota.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
Completing pre-test case review of clinical phenotype
Critically evaluating several sources of information in order to assess the clinical significance and provide a recommendation about the pathogenicity of a given variant
Playing an integral role in the management and operations of our clinical genetic testing laboratories
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
Master of Science or Master of Arts in Genetic Counseling granted by a genetic counseling program accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
Eligible for active candidate status as defined by ABGC or board certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) or the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
Certification must be attained within 2 years of start date
Professional knowledge of the rapidly changing principles and practice of medical, clinical, and laboratory genetics
Effective oral and written presentation and communication skills
