BALTIMORE, MD — (Marketwired) — 07/29/14 — Albert J. Aboulafia, MD, a renowned leader in cancer care, has been named director of the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Cancer Institute at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. Under his leadership of the Weinberg Cancer Institute, he will oversee the divisions of Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, the Breast Center, the CyberKnife® Center and the Tumor Registry.

A nationally and internationally recognized leader in the clinical and research aspects of cancer care, Dr. Aboulafia remains active in academics, publications, editorial boards, research and teaching. He also serves in various national leadership positions including President of The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and The Baltimore City Medical Society.
Dr. Aboulafia is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA and his fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Aboulafia also received an MBA from The Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business.
