After several halting starts, spring (and shirt sleeve!) weather seems to be here to stay. For while there was a noticeable chill in the air yesterday with highs only in the low 60s, the arrival of high pressure will make for a very comfortable weekend. A mix of sun and clouds is expected today with high temperatures in the low to mid 70s and just a chance of isolated showers this afternoon. Sunday will be milder and brighter still with plenty of sunshine and an actual taste of summer: with highs around 80 - it will be genuinely "warm!" And that should be just the beginning of what will be a week of windows being opened, air conditioners starting to whir, and jackets left hanging in closets. Temperatures each and every day should be in the 80s and you'll notice an increase in Washington's trademark humidity as the week goes on. A passage of a cold front on Wednesday could set off a few showers, but otherwise May's first full week should be a magnificent one! Enjoy the big warm up!
