Problem:

Any large files (circa >20MB+) downloaded are "corrupt"

Temporary Fix:

Superhub switched to "Modem" mode

Old Buffalo WGR54 router (running DD-WRT) attached as stop gap

Questions:

Why do i need a 10/15 year old router to make the brand new superhub work as described?

How can I get wireless access back (not working on old router - hence why it was shoved in the bottom drawer!)

Do I need to buy a seperate router to make this thing fit for purpose?

If so can I get a smaller High Speed modem to replace the not so Superhub please?

In short... any ideas, solutions, firmware upgrades scheduled Virgin?

Thanks

History:

Telewest/Blueyonder/Virgin Customer since beginning

Newly upgraded from 20 to 60 M/b

Previous generation router replaced by Superhub July 30th 2012

Home Hardware:

New PC (Hi End gaming machine self build Win7 64 Home Premium)

Ubuntu Linux HTPC

Debian Linux Media Server

Apple TV (2nd Generation) media client

MacBook Pro laptop (Snow Leopard & Win7 32 Home)

Various iPhones/iPads etc.

Problem History:

Weekly game patches failing since Superhub installed

(Attempted Fix) Download on other machines to transfer still corrupted

(Attempted Fix) Multiple fresh installs of OS using a number of different copies of Windows 7

After fresh installs couldn't download some (not all - just larger files) Drivers, Windows Updates, Service Packs etc.

(Attempted Fix) Turn off all Anti-virus, FireWalls (including Superhub) etc.

(Succesful Fix) Turn off ALL router features by changing to Modem mode and use ancient router from the bottom drawer :smileysurprised:
