MTV has announced that internationally renowned UK rap superstar DIZZEE RASCAL will bring his distinctive raw sound – infusing rap, hip hop, UK garage and infectious bass-lines - to perform a number of his biggest hits at this summer’s Isle of MTV 2014. In addition, electro-pop singer songwriter and breakthrough artist KIESZA will also take the stage and the world’s number one DJ, producer and musician, HARDWELL, will bring the event to an almighty close with a powerhouse finale set. Now in its eighth year, the must-attend open-air event – organised in partnership with Malta Tourism Authority and sponsored by House of Marley and Someone Like Me - will take place on Wednesday, 25 June 2014 in the country’s historic Il-Fosos Square, Floriana. DIZZEE RASCAL

Recognised for being a founder of the hugely influential UK grime movement from the tender age of 16, Dizzee Rascal went on to release a slew of dance-floor hits spanning five albums which have electrified the charts over the last decade, including ‘Fix Up Look Sharp’, summer smash ‘Dance Wiv Me’ (featuring DJ Calvin Harris, which received over 14.8 million views on YouTube), ‘Bonkers’ (produced by DJ Armand van Helden), ‘Shout’, ‘Dirtee Disco’, Holiday and ‘Goin’ Crazy’ (featuring Robbie Williams). His 2011 collaboration with Columbian superstar Shakira on ‘Loca’topped thecharts in a number of international territories - including Poland, Portugal and Spain - whilst also peaking at number thirty-two on the Billboard Hot 100. Having celebrated a run of five UK number ones, his latest album, ‘The Fifth’ - his first since signing a multi-million pound global record deal with Universal – features collaborations with a host of global names including Jessie J and Will.i.am.

Dizzee Rascal has countless accolades and industry awards to his name. He remains the youngest ever winner of the coveted Mercury Music Prize (at the age of 19 in 2003) and has also won an Ivor Novello and a number of BRIT Awards. Tipped by many leading industry figures as ‘the voice of the new house renaissance’, the Canadian-born New Yorker, signed to Lokal Legend, will bring her irresistibly unique hybrid sound -– packed with deep house grooves and soulful melodies – to perform an anthemic electro-pop set to the 50,000 strong crowd, including an undoubtedly popular performance of her recent debut smash hit ‘Hideaway’. The hot new single has already stormed the UK charts going straight in at number one, with its distinctive ‘one-take’ video - which was designed, directed and stars Kiesza performing a three minute dance routine through the streets of Brooklyn - receiving more than 18 million views on YouTube.

Bursting onto the international music scene in 2011 with his formidable dance beats, complex drum ensembles, daring synths and emotive chords, Dutch born Hardwell (bornRobbert van de Corput) will take to the stage at this year’s Isle of MTV to rock the 50,000 strong crowd. At the age of just 26, the Dutch phenomenon has already been named the world's No. 1 DJ in the 2013 DJ Mag Top 100 poll, acquiring global headliner status with performances at some of the most prestigious and crowd-pleasing of parties in the world.

Having elevated his festival and club-land standing to impressive, dizzying heights, his serving of meteoric club anthems have swept clubs and dance-floors worldwide. Hardwell will set Il Fosos Square alight with show-stopping performances of chart topping, club anthems ’Zero 76’  featuring mentor Tiësto (which received over 14 million views on YouTube!), ‘Call Me a Spaceman’, ‘Apollo’ and, ‘Cobra’  the track that first propelled Hardwell’s name into the spotlight and ignited a global phenomenon around his infectious releases and DJ sets.

Dizzee Rascal (born Dylan Mills) is an award winning London-born rapper, songwriter and grime producer.
