Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce its Perspective Canada line-up, a series of Canadian features to be screened during the Marché du Film, which runs parallel to the Cannes Film Festival (May 14 to 25, 2014). Also at the Market is Telefilm’s Not Short On Talent spotlight, featuring 45 homegrown short films. For more information on these titles visit the Canada At Cannes microsite. Telefilm’s ninth annual Perspective Canada is designed to increase the international visibility of Canadian features and to promote Canadian companies, films and talent to some 11,700 accredited buyers, sellers and producers.
“Cannes is also vital in terms of deal making; the Marché du Film is a hub where industry professionals debut and discover over 5,000 films,” said Carolle Brabant, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada. “These 16 Perspective Canada titles demonstrate the scope of our industry in terms of connecting with audiences. We’re also pleased to note that we received more than 300 applications for Not Short On Talent—double the amount from last year.”
