The Unite 2013 conference will kick off on Wednesday, August 28 at the Vancouver Convention Centre with a keynote address from David Helgason, Joachim Ante, and Lucas Meijer with guest keynote presentation given by space adventurer and gaming guru Richard Garriott de Cayeux. Garriott’s Ultima series is one of the most successful and longest-running franchises in entertainment software history and helped define the massive MMORPG landscape. His talk will draw on that expertise and current Unity-based Kickstarter project Shroud of the Avatar.

Unite 2013 is an event for developers, publishers, enthusiasts and others interested in Unity to come together to learn more about the market-leading platform for creating high quality video games, training simulations, medical and architectural visualizations and other 3D interactive content – and how to get the most out of it. The conference offers three days of learning including advanced hands-on class tutorials, technical sessions, previews of upcoming technology as well as the chance to network in a creative and energetic environment and awesome parties.

Unity Technologies will also host a separate Unity Training Day event at the Vancouver Convention Centre on August 27 to give new and inexperienced users a foundation for Unity development before the big show begins. This year the training day will focus on hands-on tutorials where attendees build a small project over a full day of information-packed sessions covering everything from the initial setup of a scene to basic retargeting and animation in Mecanim and particle effect generation in Shuriken.
