The Maharashtra Zilla Parishad/ Municipal Coporation/ Civic Election 2017 Polls are turning out to be very thrilling. Maharashtra Zilla Parishad Municipal Election are unprecedented as the long term allies, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena and the other alliance group i.e. the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), are going to Contest against each other in these elections.
There had been long term negotiations between the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena but all efforts failed. The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena have decided to contest the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad Municipal Election polls independently. The bitterness between the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena began during the Maharashtra State Assembly Elections and they fought the elections separately.
In the Maharashtra State Assembly Elections the Bhartiya Janta Party won most of the seats. However, the Maharashtra Government which is headed by the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is supported by the Shiv Sena and in the Lok Sabha the Shiv Sena is a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in which the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) alone has majority in the Lok Sabha.
There are sharp exchanges of words going on between the members of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena. Some Shiv Sena members have also spoken about taking back the support from the State and the Central Government. The Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackrey has openly criticized the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and even the Prime Minister Nariander Modi.
It is similar in the Case of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Indian National Congress (INC). They too were old allies but now turned enemies in the upcoming Civic election. The Indian National Congress (INC) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) also parted their ways in the Maharashtra State Assembly election in the year 2014.
The talks between the two parties i.e. the Indian National Congress (INC) and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), did work out and they both have decided to fight the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad Municipal Election independently.
