On with the FZR front end. I got the wheels powder coated in a colour called Golden Touch which it think looks pretty nice. All new bearings & seals from All Balls fitted. The discs that came with the wheels were well beyond usable so I got some aftermarket discs & after a long hunt on eBay, I finally found some cheap R1 callipers in top condition all the way from New York. I ultrasonic cleaned & rebuilt the callipers. which are now like new.

I started to prep for the XJ to FZR fork mod & I must recommend the youtube channel GT's Garage as he shows the sequence & gives a few handy hints along the way that helped a lot.

I won't go into the fork rebuild as a few have already done it better than me but it now looks pretty sweet. I did use 15W fork oil though as a test but I now know what's involved to get the forks apart to change it later if the need arises

Not 100% on frame & fork finish yet but here is a completed closeup.

I was after a wide rear tyre but didn't want to go through the clearance issues that some have had with the 160/60-18 tyre. After much research, I found that AVON tyres do a nice AM26 Roadrider 150/70-18. Not much other brands do a 150. I was very keen on finding a matched front tyre, they do a 110/80-17 which should protect the front rim better than a 110/70-17 from many pot holes on our Australian country roads.
