Now we are putting together the solicits for the beginning of Vertigo’s new year in 2016.  Now all of their “relaunch” titles will have been released, twelve in total, so now there are no more #1s.  This is really where we will begin to see how well this new line-up will play over at Vertigo.  For the most part, there are no surprises here, just middling issues of all of their series.  Issue #13 of Fables: A Wolf Among Us is released here, which is a touch unusual since most people assumed this was a 12-issue maxi series.  It is not usual to see it run 13 issues, so it is quite possible that it will keep going a touch longer.  The final issue of Twilight Children from Gilbert Hernandez and Darwyn Cook will come out in January, which has been the most celebrated of the new books at Vertigo so far.  Since Lucifer is one book that they really want to succeed because of its television show tie-in, they are releasing a special edition copy of #1.  This is not of the relaunch, but of the Sandman spin-off from the 1990s, and will come out for only a buck.  We are also finally getting another issue of Vertigo Quarterly: SFX, which has seemed like forever for the fantastic anthology title.

Vertigo also continues its great tradition of keeping its backlog relevant and available.  The miniseries The Egypt, which was called a “lost series” is coming to the trade paperback, bringing its story of drifting magic to a new group of readers.  Doom Patrol Book 1 and Y: The Last Man Book 4, respectively, will be coming out, which is showing how committed Vertigo is to the Deluxe Edition format that a lot of readers have preferred.  These nice hardback(and sometimes soft back) versions have extra content, good paper stock, and a nicer presentation, and a lot of non-comic readers from bookstores enjoy getting these volumes.
