Versita has added a new journal from UK to its Open Access offering.

Oxford, UK/Warsaw, 23. August 2013 – Versita and the Trustees of the ANVIL journal have entered into an agreement to publish Anglican Evangelical Journal for Theology and Mission

ANVIL (Anglican Evangelical Journal for Theology and Mission) has been published for almost three decades now.  It aims to encourage clear and creative thinking and practice through open, scholarly debate. While the journal stands clearly in an Anglican evangelical tradition, it seeks to engage constructively with other Christian backgrounds, both within and beyond the Anglican Communion. ANVIL has a particular concern to reflect the unity and diversity of the church worldwide.

After 25 years as a print journal, ANVIL was relaunched in 2011 primarily as an online journal. The recent agreement with Versita will open up its contents to wider public. All articles will be published as fully open access on www.versita.com  and deposited in relevant abstracting services immediately upon publication.

The new journal joins Versita extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed research publications. It also means additional high-quality religious studies content for Versita and De Gruyter – the latter already a global leader in the field. The ANVIL continues to be responsible for editorial processes and content, whereas Versita remains in charge of journal production and marketing functions.

ANVIL will publish articles under the Creative Commons Attribution License enabling authors to be fully compliant with open access requirements of funding organizations where applicable.

Commenting on the partnership with Versita, Revd. Dr. Craig Holmes, ANVIL’s Assistant Editor, says:  ”We are looking to reach the widest audience in order to further our aims. Versita is able to offer us the services and support for which we were looking.”

The inaugural issue of ANVIL by Versita will be released in September 2013.
