As the weather cools down and the leaves start to turn, our fashion changes with the seasons.

It’s that time of year for pumpkin spice latte’s, pumpkin carving, pumpkin seeds and all your pumpkin dreams draws nearer; I think it is high time we talk about some fashion do’s and don’ts to up your antic this coming Fall, and make you the number one fashionista/o of your group.

Shoes Make The Whole Outfit

Have you ever put your whole outfit together and youre just like “wow I am such a babe I am so hot” and then look down and think to yourself, “CRAP. WHAT SHOES DO I WEAR??” Well honey heres tip #1: Find your shoes FIRST, and build your outfit AROUND the shoes. You can wear just about anything from boots to high tops.  Your shoes should really be colors matching your backdrop (the changing leaves and trees, the overall warmth of the season).  These colors include dark brown, camel, auburn or a leathery type brown such as Frye or maybe even Timberlands.  Which brings us to style.  Style really varies by person and location but for right now lets focus on East Coast/Northern Fall for the moment.  Boots in the style of knee-high to high-top are probably the best bet.  Having this style prevents your feet from getting wet when it rains, or from dirt and leaves getting in your shoes and making your night-time shower and cleansing rituals a little more difficult.  Also, who wants bugs in their shoes? Well let me tell you I sure do NOT want that in my shoes no sirree bob.

Working Our Way Up

Time to talk pants/stockings/dresses everything you can imagine (don’t worry guys this is still about you too lol). Girls if you still aren’t ready to stop wearing those dresses you love so much do not fret! I got you covered with the cinched waist dress, perfect for Fall AND Spring so you don’t have to throw it away! Warmer colors like forest green, evening blue, even certain styles of nude are the best bet for those dresses! Stockings and tights are also 100% ok, try choosing warm colors once again, OR, if you are already a warm color person, how about maybe doing so lighter blues, reds and yellows, even some lighter browns with the stockings and leggings to tie together with the shoes, which depends on the color you choose and style for the day. With pants, men we don’t really have much of a choice but I would never suggest a straight fit jean. I would go with skinny jean, or skinny pants. Maybe a slim fit jean so it isn’t as tight as the skinny jeans or pants. Color wise darker blue, maybe even a dark washout jean paired with light to medium brown shoes.

We Are Halfway There!

SHIRTS AND JACKETS! Bear with me here! Ladies if you chose the dress you’re set for right now so hold tight for the jackets!  For the rest of you lets talk shirts. Now really you can wear whatever you want I mean sure, but is it really fashionable? Probably not. SO, women, the shirts you can choose can be beautiful and be fashionable AND comfortable! (I know shocking) by taking a lace blouse, either white, dark blue, army green and dark brown with a lace design can really give you the subtle POP you need to be fashion forward as well as warm at the same time.  We all know when we think lace we don’t think warmth, BUT did you know that there are lace outfits designed for the Fall fashion line? Oh yeah. Plenty of designers and affordable stores create these designs JUST for the Fall, they are subtle differences but are better than what you would see for the summer time.

For ladies jackets/sweaters its definitely ALL about leather, down to your ankles sweaters all the time, best for wrapping yourself up when its cold, and once its warmer you open it up to reveal the stunning outfit you have put together underneath.  Boys, lets talk button down shirts, they are not as uncomfortable as they seem, a nice button down with a small pattern, maybe even some very small white polka dots for accents is always great, tie that up with a brown leather jacket, or even a light grey jacket will bring the whole piece together.

Don’t be afraid to button to the top, pair it with a nice warm tie, or just leave the top button as is, maybe even leave the top two unbuttoned it is totally your call, just make sure its respectable.
