VENTURES AFRICA – Logicalis, a subsidiary of global ICT group Datatec, has acquired the Channel Islands-based provider of desktop and mail solutions, iConsult, for an undisclosed sum.
According to Datatec, the deal will reinforce iConsult’s IT services and will see the mail solutions company merged with Logicalis’ existing Channel Islands businesses.
Jens Montanana, the CEO of Datatec, said the acquisition added a new dimension to Logicalis Managed Services business in the Channel Islands.
Logicalis Managed Services became a subsidiary of Datatec when the ICT group acquired the European subsidiaries of 2e2 earlier this year.
“We can now deliver cloud- based & hosted desktop and BYOD services to a larger customer base in the Channel Islands and increase Logicalis’ revenue annuity base,” Montanana said in a statement.
“With Logicalis’ current hosted services being based in Guernsey, the transaction means Logicalis is now better placed to provide cloud and hosted desktop services to the whole Channel Islands,” Montanana added in a statement.
Datatec has revenues of over $5 billion and more than 6,500 workers globally. It has businesses in over 50 countries including 11 African countries.
It has operations in Zambia, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Angola, Namibia and Cameroon.
